Hillsborough County Jail
If you have a friend or family member being held at the jail in Hillsborough County, FL, you can contact an attorney to request that the attorney visit them for a free consultation.
The criminal defense attorneys at Sammis Law Firm set up a same-day meeting with inmates at one of the jails in Hillsborough County, FL, including:
- Orient Road Jail at 1201 Orient Road; or
- Falkenburg Road Jail at 520 N Falkenburg Road.
Both jails are managed by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO). During the COVID-19 pandemic, the jail allows private attorneys to set up remote video conferences that can be scheduled online free of charge.
Attorneys schedule the remote video conference with their clients using HCSO Visitation Scheduling. Professional visits are NOT subject to recording.
The public can also set up remote video conferences, although there is a charge for that service.
We often meet with clients who are being held on:
- no bond until after the first appearance for charges such as domestic violence battery;
- no bond because of a violation of probation or pre-trial release;
- a high bond that might be reduced if the appropriate motion is filed.
The global pandemic caused by the COVID-19 health crisis has made it easier to set up remote video conferences between an attorney and a client. More confidential face-to-face visits can also be scheduled with permission from the jail.

HCSO Search Arrest Inquiry Database
Visit the website of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) to find a database that lists people currently in the jail at Orient Road Jail or Falkenburg Road Jail.
Click here: HCSO Search Arrest Inquiry
The HCSO Jail Management System uses a search feature that is open to the public. Even after a person’s release from jail, the information will remain on the website for another 90 days (although authorized members continue to have access to the information after the 90-day period).
Criminal defense attorneys have full access to the arrest inquiry database.
The search features open to the public, including information on the pending charges that caused the detention, the amount required to bond out of custody, and the mug shot and booking photo.
The search features allow you to search by the inmate’s name, booking number, booking date, or release date. You can limit your search to current inmates only or sort by booking date or booking number.
Keep in mind that the fact that a person was arrested does not mean that the inmate has been convicted of a crime. The information on the arrest inquiry database is updated every 30 minutes.
The database will tell you whether the inmate is currently being housed at the jail on Orient Road or Faulkenburg Road.
