What a great idea to show high school students the potential consequences of drinking and driving. (This video is from a prior mock crash conducted a Durant High School in 2008.)

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office conducted a Mock DUI Crash at Brandon High School on Friday, April 23, 2010. The crash was on the football field. Several other agencies assisted in the mock crash including:

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue
Stepps Towing
Stowers Funeral Home
Tampa General Hospital Aeromed
Mothers Against Drunk Driving

Authorities are hoping to demonstrate the realities of what can occur when individuals drink and drive. As part of the crash, a severely injured student was airlifted out by Tampa General Hospital Aeromed. The “deceased” will be transported from the scene by Stowers Funeral Home and Hillsborough County Fire Rescue extricated and treated other victim’s at the scene.

A young guest speaker from MADD, Mr. Brian Rushing addressed the audience.
