Sammis Law Firm, P.A. was founded in 2008 by Jason D. Sammis and Leslie M. Sammis. Since then, our attorneys have focused on criminal and DUI defense in Tampa and throughout the greater Tampa Bay area. Our main office is at 1005 N. Marion Street in downtown Tampa, and we also have offices in Clearwater, New Port Richey and Winter Park.

What We Do

A DUI arrest starts two cases at once: the administrative suspension of your driver’s license and the criminal DUI charge in court. We handle both.

• Your driver’s license. You have only ten (10) days after the arrest to demand a formal review hearing or seek a hardship license. We help you decide which option is best and act quickly so the deadline isn’t missed.
• The criminal case. We investigate the stop, the arrest, the field sobriety exercises and the breath, blood or urine test. We file motions to suppress, motions to dismiss and other pre-trial motions, negotiate with prosecutors, and prepare every case as if it will go to trial.
• Every type of DUI. First DUI, second or third DUI, refusal cases, DUI with a BAC over .15, DUI with property damage or serious bodily injury, DUI manslaughter, boating under the influence, commercial driver DUI and underage DUI.
• Related traffic crimes. Hit and run, reckless driving, driving while license suspended and other traffic crimes.

Our Attorneys

• Jason D. Sammis co-founded the firm in 2008. He graduated from the University of Virginia and the University of Florida College of Law, where he was a member of the Florida Law Review.
• Leslie M. Sammis co-founded the firm in 2008. A former Assistant Public Defender, she graduated with honors from the University of Florida College of Law and has conducted hundreds of formal review hearings in Tampa and Clearwater.
• Joshua L. Monteiro is a former Assistant Public Defender in Hillsborough and Pasco Counties and a Major in the U.S. Army Reserve.
• Katherine A. Aranda is a Stetson University College of Law graduate and former Assistant Public Defender in Pinellas County with extensive jury trial experience.
• Jocelyn Dopson-Rodriguez is a former Assistant Public Defender in Tampa who has tried numerous jury and non-jury trials to verdict.
• Ricardo E. De Lucca grew up in Tampa, graduated cum laude from the University of Florida and earned his law degree from Stetson University College of Law.

How We Work With You

Our regular business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Our attorneys are also on call after hours, on weekends and on holidays. If you call after hours, leave a message with our answering service and one of our attorneys will call you back.
