Jocelyn Dopson-Rodriguez

Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Jocelyn Dopson-Rodriguez was raised in Kissimmee, Florida. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies with a minor in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida and her Juris Doctor from the Florida A&M University College of Law in Orlando, FL.

While in law school, Jocelyn served as a Student Ambassador and served on several executive boards for other student organizations. She served as a summer judicial law clerk at the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and as an intern with the Ninth Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office and Guardian Ad Litem Program.

Before joining the Sammis Law Firm, Jocelyn was an Assistant Public Defender for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in Tampa, Florida, where she handled hundreds of criminal cases and tried numerous jury and non-jury trials to verdict. She then transitioned into civil litigation, representing public and private entities in various State and Federal litigation matters in civil rights, first-party property, negligence, and construction defect matters. 

Since joining the Sammis Law Firm, Jocelyn has focused exclusively on criminal defense and civil asset forfeiture.

Active in the legal community, Jocelyn is a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (FACDL) and the Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (CFACDL).
